Aisha jamila hinds was born in the United States and is most well-known for her performance on The Shield. Ever since her debut in 2003 she has proved her abilities as an actress, delivering amazing performances on TV shows like 9-1-1 Detroit 1-8-7, and Under the Dome. The year 2005 was the year she gained attention initially for her role as Anna In Assault on Precinct 13 It was however her portrayal of women's liberation activist Fannie Louis Hamer from the biopic All the Way, which gave her the respect she was due as an actor. Her portrayal of Harriet Tubman on WGN America's historical drama Underground was also highly appreciated. She currently stars on the procedural drama series 9-1-1 in the leading role of firefighter/paramedic Henrietta Hen Wilson. 20th Century Fox Television has renewed the show for a 3rd season.
